Murine is a sustainable fashion garment collection inspired by the mutation of marine life. This capsule collection includes some 3D-printed garment designs and high-end streetwear.
This collection consists of four different themed garments and textile textures. This inspiration came from current problems, and materials are sourced from the marine. After upcycling and carefully crafted textile turned into a collection.
Overview

Murine means mutation of marine life that will happen eventually in the future. As Charles Darwin's evolution theory: "A species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive and reproduce." This concept is called Darwinism.

Marine life has been disturbed by marine pollution. It's terrible to live with such toxic substances. The thought behind murine is the combination of Darwinism and Futurism. After many years, what if a mutation happens in marine life, and marine life may evolve to accept pollution as a part of their life. That includes digesting plastic debris and breathing through oily water surfaces.

Murine is a concept for the future and awareness for today.
Brainstorming
The artwork was created to understand the inspiration and brainstormed Mutation and Marine words. After brainstorming, the whole concept was laid out, and storyboarding have developed.

Storyboarding
The story is surreal and connects biology and sustainable fashion trend. Some imagined futuristic creatures were conceptualized and juxtaposed some scenarios with some art supplies.

"Years ago, the earth had a different world for us, marine creatures," said Alex to her daughter Hope. It's the year 3025, and your ancestors started evolving their selves to save our species. Humans used to pollute our environment, and it was hard to survive.
This story is to provide an environment and feel of futurism and a few abstracted illustrations to show creatures who have survived all the oceanic pollution.
Explorations
I replicated all the sample explorations in fabric and draped them on the mannequin to test falls. I used pleate, fluting, patchwork, and thread work techniques.
Multiple Indian handicraft techniques have been explored on various fabrics with different mediums to replicate marine creature textures.
